Two belts will be up for grabs north of the border at UFC 336.
Joshua Van will defend the flyweight title against Manel Kape in the Jan. 30 main event at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, the promotion announced Saturday.
In the co-headliner, Carlos Prates and Michael Morales will square off for the interim welterweight title.
Welterweight champion Islam Makhachev informed the UFC that he wouldn't be ready to defend the belt in January, leading to the interim title bout. With Ramadan approaching, Makhachev's next fight likely won't be until sometime between May and July, play-by-play commentator Jon Anik said on the UFC 333 broadcast.
Van is defending the 125-pound title for the third time. The 24-year-old is coming off a unanimous decision victory in a rematch against former champion Alexandre Pantoja at UFC 331 in September, a win that cemented him as the top flyweight in the promotion. Van also finished Tatsuro Taira via fifth-round TKO earlier this year.
Kape, ranked No. 1 in the flyweight division, is riding a four-fight winning streak. Most recently, he knocked out former title challenger Kyoji Horiguchi in a June main event to secure a title shot against Van.
Prates, the No. 1-ranked welterweight, has won three in a row with highlight-reel knockouts of Jack Della Maddalena, Leon Edwards, and Geoff Neal. Morales, who's ranked No. 3, is undefeated at 19-0 and is coming off a first-round knockout of Sean Brady at UFC 322 last November.
UFC 336 will mark the promotion's first event in Toronto since January 2024.
