Max Holloway is hoping to turn a win over Conor McGregor next weekend into a trilogy at an NFL stadium later this year.
Holloway, the former featherweight champion, is scheduled to face McGregor in a welterweight bout in the UFC 329 main event at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. It will be McGregor's first Octagon appearance since he broke his leg in a knockout loss to Dustin Poirier in July 2021.
Holloway said he plans to beat McGregor and then fight the Irishman again before the end of 2026.
"I go out there and get my hand raised in some crazy fashion, poke the bear a little bit more (with McGregor), poke (UFC CEO) Dana White, and we do Allegiant Stadium in December," Holloway told ESPN's Brett Okamoto.
McGregor and Holloway are squaring off for the second time. McGregor earned a unanimous decision victory in 2013, before either were title contenders.
Holloway is coming off a lopsided defeat to Charles Oliveira at UFC 326 in March, in which he forfeited the BMF title. The 34-year-old Hawaiian is 2-2 in his last four outings - including a knockout win over current lightweight champion Justin Gaethje - and could reinsert himself into the title picture with a win at UFC 329.
McGregor, 37, will end a career-long five-year layoff against Holloway. The former two-division champion is riding a two-fight skid and is 1-3 in his last four fights dating back to 2018.
