Report: Yankees believe Bellinger will sign elsewhere, eyeing other options

The New York Yankees are operating under the mindset that outfielder Cody Bellinger will sign with a different team this offseason, according to Buster Olney of ESPN.

New York's front office is reportedly looking for additions elsewhere due to an impasse in contract talks with Bellinger's camp.

The Yankees offered Bellinger a five-year deal worth at least $30 million per season, sources told Olney.

However, Bellinger and his agent, Scott Boras, want a longer contract with an average annual value higher than $30 million, Olney reports.

The Bronx Bombers have remained in discussions with outfielder Kyle Tucker and shortstop Bo Bichette while talking to other clubs about potential trades

Bellinger slashed .272/.334/.480 with 29 homers, 98 RBIs, and 4.9 fWAR over 152 games last year. Defensively, he finished in the 93rd percentile for outs above average, 91st percentile in arm value, and 83rd percentile in arm strength.
