Guardians' Fry carted off field after being struck in face by pitch
Cleveland Guardians designated hitter David Fry was carted off the field in the sixth inning of Tuesday's game against the Detroit Tigers after he was struck in the face by a pitch.
Fry squared to bunt against Tigers left-hander Tarik Skubal, who threw a 99-mph fastball toward the Guardians hitter. Fry appeared to foul the offering off his face before going down in pain.

Skubal immediately dropped his hat and glove and appeared to be shook up by the accident.
Fry was able to get up with assistance from the training staff, who held a towel over his face before a cart escorted him off the field.
He was replaced by George Valera, who struck out after the contest resumed.
Fry was taken to Lutheran Medical Center before being transferred to the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus for further testing, according to the Associated Press' Tom Withers.
"I've already reached out to him," Skubal said postgame, according to MLive's Evan Woodbery. "I'm sure his phone's blowing up. I just want to make sure he's all right. He seemed okay coming off the field, and hopefully it stays that way.
"I look forward to, hopefully tonight or tomorrow morning, getting a text from him and making sure he's all good. There are things that are bigger than the game, and his health is more important than a baseball game."
