Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton announced Monday he'll be taking part in his first Home Run Derby on July 14 at Atlanta's Truist Park.
Buxton, a Georgia native, will compete in the event with Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh, Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr., and Washington Nationals outfielder James Wood. There are still four spots available to complete the eight-player field.
The 31-year-old Buxton was also selected to play in the second All-Star Game of his 11-year career.
Buxton has 20 homers this season, tied for the fifth-most in the American League.
