The Blue Jays non-tendered closer Jordan Romano on Friday, the team announced.

Romano posted a 6.59 ERA in 15 appearances last season. The two-time All-Star closer missed the majority of the campaign with an elbow injury that required surgery last August.

The 31-year-old Canadian owns a 2.90 ERA and 11.2 K/9 with 105 saves in six big-league seasons. He was projected to earn $7.75 million through arbitration.

Toronto also non-tendered right-hander Dillon Tate, but the team offered all of its other arbitration-eligible players a contract, according to Sportsnet's Shi Davidi.
