The Boston Red Sox acquired right-hander Quinn Priester from the Pittsburgh Pirates for infield prospect Nick Yorke, the clubs announced Monday.

Boston optioned Priester to Triple-A after the trade was completed. The 23-year-old owns a 2-6 record with a 5.04 ERA, 1.46 WHIP, and 31 strikeouts across 44 2/3 innings in the majors this season. He was drafted 18th overall in 2019.

Yorke, 22, was a first-round selection in the 2020 draft. He has primarily played at second base this season and is slashing .278/.363/.422 with 10 home runs, 46 RBIs, and 14 stolen bases in 83 games across two minor-league levels.

Yorke was the No. 14 prospect in the Red Sox system, according to Baseball America.
