The San Diego Padres placed star outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. on the 10-day injured list with a femoral stress reaction, the club announced Monday.

The stress reaction is in Tatis' upper right leg, according to Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune.

There's no timetable for a return, but Tatis said he's targeting after the All-Star Game.

"It's a huge gap," Tatis said, according to The Associated Press. "I don't want to put it out there because people are going to expect stuff. But it's going to be some time. We know with the right stuff we're trying to aim after the All-Star Game, but we're talking about something serious in my bone, in my right leg."

The one-time All-Star said he's been playing through the injury for most of the season.

"It can get worse and we don't want that," Tatis said. "I was playing through it and I probably could have kept going but the doctors recommended to heal it now so that way it doesn't get worse. It's just better that way."

The 25-year-old has 14 homers, 36 RBIs, eight stolen bases, and an .821 OPS over 80 games this season.
