The Boston Red Sox traded infielder Luis Urías to the Seattle Mariners, the teams announced Friday.

Urías, 26, spent the final two months of 2023 with the Red Sox when they acquired him from the Milwaukee Brewers at the trade deadline. He'd been a key utility piece for Milwaukee but fell out of favor early in 2023 and spent some time in Triple-A prior to the trade.

In 52 total big-league games between the two teams last campaign, Urías hit .194/.337/.299 with three homers and 18 RBIs. His best season came in 2021 when he posted a career-high .789 OPS and slugged 23 home runs.

Urías, who is projected by MLB Trade Rumors to earn $4.7 million in 2024, will add some infield depth to Seattle's bench. The native of Mexico is capable of playing third base, second base, and shortstop, splitting time between the three positions almost evenly during his six-year big-league career.

Campbell, 26, made his MLB debut with the Mariners in July. The former second-round pick was solid down the stretch for Seattle, posting a 2.83 ERA, 3.32 FIP, and 1.22 WHIP along with 33 strikeouts in 28 2/3 innings.

Campbell is the first Portuguese-born player to appear in an MLB game. He was born in Angra do Heroismo, Portugal while his father was stationed there with the United States Air Force.

The Red Sox also announced that they non-tendered right-hander Wyatt Mills.
