Oklahoma looked ready to force a deciding Game 3 after taking the lead in the top of the seventh. But the Rebels had other plans. Moments after Ole Miss shortstop Jacob Gonzalez tied it with an RBI single, Justin Bench scampered home with what became the title-clinching run on Trevin Michael's wild pitch.

Gonzalez, who went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, scored the insurance run later in the eighth on Michael's second wild pitch of the inning.
Ole Miss right-hander Dylan DeLucia was named Most Outstanding Player of the 2022 College World Series. DeLucia won both of his starts in the CWS, including a four-hit shutout against Arkansas that clinched the Rebels' berth in the final.
The 21-year-old junior, in his first season with Ole Miss after transferring from junior college, struck out 17 and didn't walk a batter in 16 2/3 innings during the tournament.
The title caps off a remarkable season for Ole Miss, which finished third in the SEC West and lost its one game in the SEC Tournament. Still, the Rebels were invited to the national tournament, where they swept through both the regionals and super-regionals before losing just once in Omaha.
Ole Miss' first CWS title comes in its sixth appearance in the tournament, and first since 2014. The program's last time advancing to the final prior to this season was in 1956.
