100 days out from World Cup: Favorites to win tournament, groups

The countdown to the World Cup is at 100 days. North America is set to host soccer's most-anticipated event, with matches taking place across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Spain, the 2010 World Cup champion, is the favorite on theScore Bet. England, a perennial contender that hasn't won the title since 1966, follows close behind. Brazil, France, and Argentina round out the top five on the oddsboard. Notably, Argentina beat France in a thrilling penalty shootout in the previous World Cup final.

The United States is a long shot at +5000 to win it all, but it's the favorite to emerge from a relatively easy group. Meanwhile, Canada is even further down at +10000 and has the third-best odds to win its group.

Spain has received the most bets to win the World Cup on theScore Bet, while Brazil has garnered the most handle (money wagered), followed by Spain and Portugal. Brazil hasn't won the event since 2002. Cristiano Ronaldo, now 41 years old, will make a record-breaking sixth World Cup appearance for Portugal, which is still looking for its first championship.

France, the 2018 champions and finalists in the last two tournaments, and England have earned the second- and third-most bets, respectively.

At age 38, Lionel Messi is expected to play for Argentina in what's likely to be the final World Cup for him and Ronaldo. However, Argentina isn't drawing much attention, falling outside the top five in both bets and handle.
