Arsenal still want Alvarez

Arsenal remain vigilant in the hunt for Julian Alvarez. The Gunners believe they can reach an agreement with Atletico Madrid over a transfer fee, but they'll only submit an offer if the Argentine indicates that he's open to the move.

To date, Alvarez has made it clear he only wants to join Barcelona. However, Atletico Madrid continue to insist that they won't sell to their direct La Liga rivals. (Fabrizio Romano)

Crunch time for Reds: Liverpool are holding key talks with Paris Saint-Germain to determine if the two sides can find common ground over a deal for Bradley Barcola. The French winger would like to join the Reds. (The Athletic)

Another Man City departure: After selling Savinho to Tottenham, Manchester City are now set to say goodbye to Nico Gonzalez. The defensive midfielder is joining Newcastle in a deal worth around £52 million. (The Athletic)

Aston Villa still adding: Aston Villa have made an official bid to Crystal Palace for Jean-Philippe Mateta. With Ollie Watkins' future unclear, Unai Emery wants to be proactive to bolster his attack. Barca find backup 'keeper: Croatian international Dominik Livakovic is joining Barcelona from Fenerbahce. Barca will pay up to €4 million to close the deal. They plan to loan him out this season, and make him the backup netminder next season after Wojciech Szczesny leaves. (Fabrizio Romano)

Juve chasing Kessie: Juventus remain in talks with free-agent midfielder Franck Kessie. After finally terminating Arthur's contract, Juve are working to sell Fabio Miretti to Besiktas, which would open the door for Kessie's arrival. Delap done at Chelsea: Nottingham Forest have reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign Liam Delap for around £45 million. The striker is expected to undergo a medical this week. (The Telegraph)

Steph to Swansea: Canadian international midfielder Stephen Eustaquio is close to joining English Championship club Swansea City from Porto in a transfer worth around £3.4 million. (Sky Sports)

Gakpo in demand: Manchester City have entered the race to sign Cody Gakpo from Liverpool. The Dutch forward is open to leaving Anfield this summer, with Tottenham also working on a deal. (Soccer News NL)

Chelsea persistent: Chelsea have been trying to sign Alex Scott all summer. The Blues have had three offers for the midfielder rejected by Bournemouth, with the highest bid coming in at £68 million. (The i Paper)
