Chelsea sign Garnacho from Man United for reported £40M fee
Chelsea completed the signing of Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United, the club announced.
The Blues are paying £40 million for the Argentine winger, sources told Rob Dawson of ESPN. The Red Devils will also receive 10% of any future sale, according to Dawson.
"It's an incredible moment for my family and I to join this great club," Garnacho said after sealing his transfer. "I can't wait to get started. I watched the Club World Cup and to join the world champions is special – we're the best team in the world! It's amazing to be here and I'm very happy."
Garnacho, who signed a contract until 2032 with his new club, was at Stamford Bridge on Saturday to watch Chelsea's 2-0 win over Fulham.

The signing brings an end to one of the summer's most protracted transfer stories. Chelsea were chasing the 21-year-old for months, and reportedly opened negotiations with a £25-million offer. Manchester United's initial plan was to reject any bids below their £50-million valuation, but they eventually accepted Chelsea's improved terms.
Garnacho is one of several Manchester United players who was told by Ruben Amorim to look for another club this summer. A transfer always seemed likely after Garnacho was critical of Amorim for leaving him out of the starting lineup for last season's Europa League final loss to Tottenham.
Garnacho, who came through Manchester United's academy, made 144 senior appearances for the club, scoring 26 goals.
Chelsea's outlay on new players during the summer transfer window has now eclipsed £250 million, but the club has also made several significant sales to help offset that opulent spending.
