Top story: Joao ready to go
Tottenham Hotspur have agreed to personal terms with Joao Palhinha and are in advanced talks with Bayern Munich to bring the 30-year-old midfielder back to the Premier League. The deal is likely to be a loan with an option to buy. Spurs would pay his salary over the duration of the season-long agreement.
Palhinha joined Bayern from Fulham in a deal worth €51 million last summer, but he's managed just six Bundesliga starts as Vincent Kompany regularly picks the likes of Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, Aleksandar Pavlovic, and Konrad Laimer ahead of him. Palhinha completed the most tackles in the 2022-23 and 2023-24 Premier League campaigns. (Fabrizio Romano)
