Latest transfer news and rumors: Liverpool join Ekitike race
The transfer window is open throughout Europe, and the rumor mill is in overdrive. Check in every day for the latest buzz from across the soccer world.
Top story: Liverpool vying for Newcastle target
Liverpool have contacted Eintracht Frankfurt over a possible move for Hugo Ekitike, who was subject of a failed €75-million bid from Newcastle United earlier this week. Newcastle's interest in Ekitike is nothing new; their attempts to land the Frenchman in summer 2022 and last January both fell short.
Liverpool are still pursuing Newcastle's Alexander Isak despite making an approach for Ekitike. They've let the Magpies know they're interested in doing a deal in the region of £120 million for the Swedish striker. Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez could leave Liverpool. (The Athletic)
