Cormier: UFC, WWE fans should 'come together'
Daniel Cormier just wants to see UFC and WWE fans get along.
The UFC light heavyweight champion shared his thoughts on tensions between the two fan bases in a recent interview with Denise Salcedo of Instinct Culture.
"Everybody's entitled to their opinion. Just because you like one does not mean you can't like the other," Cormier said. "I think we both have very passionate fan bases. That's why you see people on one side so mad or people on the other side so mad. (Let's) all just come together and buy the pay-per-view. That's all I want."
Cormier was also asked about his confrontation with Brock Lesnar at UFC 226, and he compared it to WrestleMania.
"I was really thinking, 'I'm having a WrestleMania moment.' That was going through my head. I was like, 'I am having a real WrestleMania moment,'" he said. "It was awesome. I was having so much fun, you know, being in there from the fight, getting the two belts. The only way Dana (White) could stop us was by handing me a second title because now it was time for pictures. And he did that and I was like, 'OK Brock, get out.'"
