Sparks' Brink to return from torn ACL vs. Aces
Los Angeles Sparks forward Cameron Brink plans to make her season debut Tuesday against the Las Vegas Aces, she told reporters Monday, including John W. Davis of the LB Press-Telegram.
Brink hasn't played since June 2024, when she sustained a torn ACL in the opening minutes of a loss to the Connecticut Sun.
"I'm just very excited. Very humbled by this experience. It's no easy thing to come back from," Brink said.
Los Angeles drafted Brink with the No. 2 overall pick in 2024. The Stanford product showed promise as a rookie, averaging 7.5 points, 5.3 boards, 1.7 assists, and 1.1 steals across 15 appearances last season.
Brink's 2.3 blocks per contest ranked second in the WNBA. The 6-foot-4 forward's return should help the Sparks' struggling interior defense.
Los Angeles has won five games in a row - including an upset of the New York Liberty - to put itself back in the playoff hunt.
