Stewie exits loss to Sparks with lower leg injury
New York Liberty star Breanna Stewart exited Saturday's 101-99 defeat against the Los Angeles Sparks due to a lower leg injury, the team announced.
Stewart pulled up lame midway through the first quarter as she was running back on defense.
The two-time WNBA MVP subsequently signaled to the bench and was subbed out of the contest.

Liberty head coach Sandy Brondello had no update on Stewart's injury after the contest, according to Andrew Crane of The New York Post.
"Hopefully she'll be okay," the coach said postgame, per Crane.
Stewart finished three points and one rebound in three minutes of action.
The UConn product entered Saturday's game averaging 19 points, 6.8 boards, four assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.4 blocks across 23 appearances this season.
Stewart earned her seventh career All-Star nod earlier this month.
