Clark: Unacceptable to use me for 'personal agendas'
Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark isn't pleased that her name is being weaponized for racism and misogyny.
"Everybody in our world deserves the same amount of respect. The women in our league deserve the same amount of respect," Clark told The Athletic's James Boyd on Thursday.
"So people should not be using my name for personal agendas. It's disappointing. It's not acceptable. ... Just treating every single woman in this league with the same amount of respect, I think, it's just a basic human thing that everybody should do."
Earlier Thursday, Clark was asked a similar question and said those using her name online to further viewpoints on non-sports topics were out of her control.
The No. 1 overall pick's remarks appeared to draw a response from Connecticut Sun guard DiJonai Carrington.

Clark has been at the center of various debates during her brief time as a pro, including her omission from the U.S. Olympic basketball roster.
