If Trae Young has his way, a 3-point competition between him and Caitlin Clark could be coming to a future All-Star Weekend.

Young was asked in an interview with Bleacher Report's Taylor Rooks whether he'd be interested in facing the Iowa star in a 3-point contest and said he's 100% on board with the idea.

"Of course, I would," the Atlanta Hawks guard said. "I've gotten to talk to her too throughout her college years. We're the only two people that ever led college in points and assists. That's a crazy stat.

"I would. I'd have to definitely practice a lot more than I have for these previous 3-point competitions. Nah, I'd be ready, for sure. I'd do it."

Young became the first player in NCAA history to lead the country in both points and assists as a freshman at Oklahoma during the 2017-18 season, averaging 27.4 points and 8.7 assists per game.

Clark is in the midst of a historic season herself, having recently surpassed Pete Maravich's NCAA Division I scoring mark of 3,667 points. She's widely expected to be the No. 1 pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft.

This year's NBA All-Star Weekend featured the first-ever NBA versus WNBA 3-point contest, which saw Stephen Curry defeat Sabrina Ionescu 29-26. Ionescu said the two have discussed partnering with other players - including Clark, potentially - for future events.
