Love and his wife, Robin, were in the house at the time of the blaze and called in the emergency at 5:18 a.m. ET, according to Golf Channel's Rex Hoggard. Three fire engines arrived on site but crews were unable to control the fire.
“While everyone in our family is saddened at the loss of our home that was filled with so much laughter and incredible memories, we’re very blessed that everyone is safe and unharmed,” Love said, according to Hoggard.
As of May 2019, the Hall of Famer's mansion had been up for sale for six years at an asking price of $4.88 million, according to Nicole Slaughter Graham of Realtor.com.
Love had lived in the house for more than 20 years.
