Scottie Scheffler was named the Korn Ferry Tour Player of the Year for his dominant 2018-19 season on Tuesday.

The 23-year-old led the Tour in both the season-long and Korn Ferry Tour Finals points list to earn fully exempt status on the PGA Tour for the 2019-20 campaign.

Scheffler won twice last season to go along with two runner-up results. He recorded 10 top-10s in 20 events played to top the Tour with $565,338 in prize money.

The former Texas Longhorn was voted the Player of the Year by his peers.

He's made all three of his cuts on the PGA Tour so far. His best result was a T-7 at the Greenbrier in his first start.

Fellow Longhorn Jordan Spieth grew up playing against Scheffler and believes he will be "a force" on the PGA Tour for years to come.
