Erik Karlsson won't be putting his Olympic silver medal on eBay
Swedish defenseman Erik Karlsson has clarified the post-game comments uttered after Sunday's loss to Canada in the gold medal game at the Olympics in Sochi, saying he definitely won't be putting his silver medal on eBay.
Speaking to Sportsnet, Karlsson (with a laugh) said he never planned to put the medal up for sale online, saying it was "kind of a joke."
And while he's disappointed with the result, he knows Sweden did well to make it that far.
It was tough to swallow. Right after a loss, I mean, you can't really enjoy it as much as I think I will for the remainder of my years as a hockey player. Even after that, it's something that you can look back to. Silver is not a bad thing in a tournament like this.
