Zegras on hot start: 'Don't wanna embarrass yourself' in Philadelphia
Philadelphia Flyers forward Trevor Zegras says he altered his approach after being traded this summer, and the early returns are very promising.
"Over the summer, definitely changed a bunch of things - my mindset heading into the season and the games," Zegras told NBC Sports Philadelphia postgame Thursday. "You come to a sports town like Philadelphia, you don't wanna embarrass yourself. You don't wanna embarrass yourself in front of your teammates. Just tried to be the best version of myself for these guys."
Zegras tallied two goals and three points in Philadelphia's 4-1 win over the Nashville Predators on Thursday and now has seven points in his last three contests. He paces the Flyers in scoring with 12 points through 10 games and is tied for the team lead with a plus-6 rating.

The 24-year-old is the first Flyer to register 10 or more points in his first 10 games with the franchise since James van Riemsdyk in 2009.
Zegras has particularly thrived at home, where he has a point in all seven games at Xfinity Mobile Arena. He's the second Flyer ever to start their Philadelphia tenure with a home point streak of that length after Peter Forsberg did it in 2005-06.
"It's such a blast getting to play at the Xfinity," Zegras said. "The fans are unbelievable, especially on a night like tonight, where maybe we didn't have our best out of the gate. The fans definitely showed the love and support to help us get the W."
Zegras struggled with inconsistency and dealt with injuries over the past two seasons. He notched 18 goals and 47 points in 88 games across his final two campaigns with the Anaheim Ducks after setting a career high with 23 goals and 65 points in 2022-23.
Philadelphia acquired Zegras from the Ducks in June for forward Ryan Poehling, plus second- and fourth-round draft picks.
