The Winnipeg Jets signed veteran winger Gustav Nyquist to a one-year, $3.25-million contract, the team announced Wednesday.
Nyquist notched a career-high 75 points in 2023-24 with Nashville, but was limited to just 11 goals and 17 assists in 79 appearances split between the Predators and Minnesota Wild last season.
The 35-year-old has averaged 20 goals and 31 assists per 82 games throughout his 13-year NHL career. He's also played for the Detroit Red Wings, San Jose Sharks, and Columbus Blue Jackets.
Nyquist could help fill the void within the Jets' middle-six forward group left by Mason Appleton, who signed with the Red Wings on Wednesday. Nikolaj Ehlers also remains unsigned but is expected to leave Winnipeg.
