Flames sign Klapka to 2-year, $2.5M contract
The Calgary Flames signed forward Adam Klapka to a two-year, $2.5-million contract, the team announced Tuesday.
Klapka, 24, recorded six goals and 10 points in 31 NHL games this season, and he added 14 goals and 26 points in 33 contests with the AHL's Calgary Wranglers. He was set to become a restricted free agent July 1.
The 6-foot-8, 235-pound winger led the Flames with 21.5 hits per 60 minutes, according to Natural Stat Trick.
Klapka will be a restricted free agent when his new deal expires after the 2026-27 campaign.
The Flames signed Klapka as an undrafted free agent in 2022 out of the Czech league. He's accumulated 48 goals, 97 points, and 220 penalty minutes in 158 AHL contests over parts of three seasons and has appeared in 37 NHL games since debuting in January 2024.
Calgary has $26.9 million of cap space after extending Klapka, according to PuckPedia.
