The Tampa Lightning made forward Brayden Point a healthy scratch for Tuesday's game against the Boston Bruins for missing a team meeting.
Point leads the Lightning with 25 goals. He has 47 points in 37 games this season.
The 28-year-old has 122 goals since the start of the 2022-23 campaign, ranking fourth league-wide in that span.
Point will represent Canada at the 4 Nations Face-Off in February. He was one of the initial six players named to the roster in June.
Canada tabbed Lightning head coach Jon Cooper to be the national team's bench boss for the tournament.
Tampa Bay is 23-15-3 and sits third in the Atlantic Division with 49 points.
