Cowboys ink Aubrey to record-setting 4-year, $28M extension
The Dallas Cowboys are signing Brandon Aubrey to a four-year, $28-million contract extension, making him the highest-paid kicker in NFL history, his agents told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Aubrey will be the first kicker to earn $7 million per season and to receive $20 million guaranteed, per Schefter.
The Cowboys placed a second-round restricted free-agent tender on Aubrey in March worth $5.76 million. Other teams could have signed the standout kicker to an offer sheet, with Dallas having the right to match.
The 31-year-old has earned Pro Bowl nods in each of his three seasons with Dallas. Noted for his long-range accuracy, Aubrey has converted six career field goals of 60 yards or longer.
Additionally, Aubrey owns an 88.2% career field-goal percentage and has converted 96.9% of his extra points. The Notre Dame product earned first-team All-Pro honors in his debut season with the Cowboys in 2023 after making 36 of 38 field-goal attempts.
Aubrey's new deal surpasses the two-year, $13-million extension that the Houston Texans agreed to with Ka'imi Fairbairn.
