The Buffalo Bills are trading cornerback Taron Johnson to the Las Vegas Raiders, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The Raiders are sending their sixth-round pick to the Bills for a seventh-round selection and Johnson, according to Vincent Bonsignore of the California Post.

The Bills initially announced they would be releasing Johnson before the Raiders moved to acquire him.

An eight-year veteran, Johnson was a big part of the Bills' secondary as their slot cornerback, making 113 appearances and 87 starts for the franchise. He had six interceptions, eight sacks, and eight forced fumbles during his time in Buffalo.

He joins a Raiders' defense that ranked 25th in points allowed last season.
