Report: Giants hiring Nagy as OC
The New York Giants are hiring Matt Nagy as their offensive coordinator on new head coach John Harbaugh's staff, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The 47-year-old Nagy spent the past three seasons as the Kansas City Chiefs' offensive coordinator. He previously served as Chicago Bears head coach for four seasons from 2018-21.
Nagy interviewed for several head coaching vacancies and was considered a finalist for the Tennessee Titans' opening. The Titans hired Robert Saleh in late January.
Nagy didn't sign a contract extension with the Chiefs ahead of last season to allow him the flexibility to explore head coaching opportunities, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. Kansas City moved on from Nagy after the season, hiring Eric Bieniemy as his replacement.
New York appeared to be targeting former Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken before he became the head coach of the Cleveland Browns last week.
Nagy will inherit a Giants offense that possesses plenty of young talent. He'll be tasked with developing quarterback Jaxson Dart, who's entering his second season.
