Dallas Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer plans to speak with George Pickens about his now-deleted social media post addressing criticism from former NFL cornerback Richard Sherman.

"I understand it's been taken down, but I will be talking to him, just checking on him," Schottenheimer said Friday, according to ESPN's Todd Archer. "Again, this is, unfortunately, things that we deal with in this profession. But I have not spoken to him, but I will."

Sherman, an analyst for Prime Video's Thursday Night Football coverage, said Pickens looked "uninterested in playing football" during the Cowboys' recent loss to the Detroit Lions. Sherman added, "You can't be the guy, and you half-ass it."

Pickens responded by telling Sherman not to speak about him "unless you know the game of football." He also said the former Seattle Seahawks cornerback owed his success to the franchise's iconic "Legion of Boom" secondary in the 2010s.

Pickens has already set career highs in receptions (78), receiving yards (1,179), and touchdowns (eight) despite only playing 13 games this campaign. However, he recorded only 37 receiving yards on Thursday, his fewest since Week 1.
