Report: Teams eye Seahawks' Woolen as possible trade target
Other NFL teams are keeping track of Seattle Seahawks cornerback Riq Woolen as a potential trade candidate, sources told "The Insiders" of NFL Network.
Woolen is scheduled to become a free agent after this season, and teams reportedly think his diminished role could make him expendable from the Seahawks' perspective. Seattle cornerback Devon Witherspoon returned this week, while Josh Jobe and Derion Kendrick have also contributed.
Woolen has acquired a reputation as a playmaker since the Seahawks selected him in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He stood out in his rookie season, grabbing a league-leading six interceptions and earning a Pro Bowl invite.
The 26-year-old has posted multiple interceptions in each of his three NFL seasons with 11 total picks over 50 career starts. Woolen has started four games this season but has yet to intercept a pass.
