San Francisco 49ers' star pass-rusher Nick Bosa will miss the rest of the 2025 season after suffering a torn ACL, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

This marks Bosa's second ACL tear in the same knee, with the first occurring in a Week 2 game in 2020, according to Schefter.

Bosa went down in the first quarter of Sunday's win over the Arizona Cardinals. He appeared to signal the seriousness of the injury with a thumbs-down gesture to the crowd on the way to the locker room.

Bosa entered the Week 3 matchup with two sacks in two games.

His injury is the latest to impact the 49ers. San Francisco has already been without Brock Purdy, George Kittle, Jauan Jennings, and Brandon Aiyuk for portions of the 2025 campaign.

A five-time Pro Bowler, Bosa is one of the NFL's most dangerous edge rushers when healthy. He's posted 64.5 sacks across six-plus seasons since entering the league as the second overall pick in 2019. Bosa's best year came in 2022 when he was named Defensive Player of the Year after putting up a league-high 18.5 sacks.
