The San Francisco 49ers are open to trading Brandon Aiyuk and have communicated with several teams about a potential swap, sources told Fox Sports' Jordan Schultz.

Aiyuk signed a four-year, $120-million extension last August following contentious negotiations that saw the talented wideout request a trade before ultimately signing a new deal.

Aiyuk is working his way back from a torn ACL sustained against the Kansas City Chiefs last October that ended his 2024 campaign. The 27-year-old has a $22.8-million bonus that becomes fully guaranteed April 1 and complicates possible trade scenarios.

The five-year veteran led the 49ers in 2023 with 75 receptions for 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns. He's established himself as a dynamic weapon in head coach Kyle Shanahan's offense and posted back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons in 2022 and 2023.

Aiyuk will headline a pass-catching group that includes George Kittle, Jauan Jennings, Ricky Pearsall, and Demarcus Robinson.

The Arizona State product remains one of the key holdovers on a roster that has experienced plenty of changes during free agency. San Francisco traded Deebo Samuel to the Washington Commanders, while Leonard Floyd, Javon Hargrave, Dre Greenlaw, and Talanoa Hufanga signed with other clubs.

General manager John Lynch says the mass exodus is part of the franchise's long-term plans.

San Francisco is negotiating an extension for quarterback Brock Purdy ahead of a contract year, per Schultz.

The Niners hold 11 selections in the 2025 NFL Draft, including the No. 11 overall pick.
