Chiefs owner: Reid 'getting younger and not older' thanks to Mahomes
Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt believes head coach Andy Reid may have found the fountain of youth in Patrick Mahomes.
Hunt credited Mahomes with rejuvenating the 66-year-old Reid during an appearance on NFL Network's "The Insiders" on Monday.
"I think any head coach who has Patrick Mahomes as his quarterback is getting younger and not older," Hunt said. "I think that's really the key to it. I really think he's rejuvenated and enjoying this part of his career.
"What a long, decorated career he's had, and we all know where it's going to end up: Pro Football Hall of Fame. But he's loving this time right now as head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs."
Reid, who's currently the second-oldest head coach in the NFL behind Pete Carroll, confirmed Tuesday that he'll return to Kansas City for a 13th season in 2025.
Reid and Mahomes have an opportunity to make history together Sunday by defeating the Philadelphia Eagles and becoming the first NFL team to win three straight Super Bowls.
