Eagles' Graham designated to return from IR before Super Bowl
The Philadelphia Eagles designated edge rusher Brandon Graham to return from injured reserve after he tore his triceps in early December.
His 21-day practice window is open, setting the stage for a return to the Eagles' lineup in the Super Bowl against the Kansas City Chiefs. The injury occurred in the team's victory over the Los Angeles Rams in Week 12, and the veteran missed the final six games of the regular season and the first three contests of the playoffs.
The 36-year-old has racked up 22 pressures, 20 tackles, and 3.5 sacks in 11 contests this season, and his 14.1% pressure rate is the highest mark on the team among all defensive linemen, according to Next Gen Stats.
"I feel good. ...This has been the easiest injury, I'd say, out of the injuries I've had. Upper-body stuff is a little bit easier," Graham said earlier in the week, according to PHLY Sports' Zach Berman.
"It's just making sure I'm building muscle, I'm getting stronger and doing the right things to where I'm not re-hurting it. We'll see what the docs say, see what's going on, and go from there."
The Eagles have primarily gone with a rotation of three edge rushers in Graham's absence. Nolan Smith, Josh Sweat, and Jalyx Hunt have gotten most of the snaps.
Graham has been with the Eagles since they selected him in the first round of the 2010 draft and is the franchise leader in games played with 206.
