Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix admitted Monday that he played through three transverse process fractures in his back during his rookie year that were sustained in the team's Week 12 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders.

"Yeah, I got twisted up a little bit, had three process fractures. A lot of guys play with a lot of those kinds of things," Nix said, according to Mike Klis of 9News.

Nix played nearly all of the Broncos' snaps after the injury. His only time off the field came when he was pulled at the end of a 38-0 blowout victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in the regular-season finale.

The rookie added that the team's bye week, which came two weeks after he sustained the back fractures, helped his recovery.

Nix, the No. 12 overall pick, ended the Broncos' playoff drought in his rookie season and posted a 10-7 record with 29 passing touchdowns, 12 interceptions, and four rushing scores.
