Report: Chiefs' Butker to miss 3-4 weeks with knee injury
Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker is expected to miss three-to-four weeks and will likely land on injured reserve, sources told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
Butker was limited in Thursday's practice with a knee injury. He'll have the knee scoped to clean up a meniscus issue, Pelissero adds.
The 29-year-old has converted 18 of 20 field-goal attempts and 21 of 22 point-after tries this season. He's also forced a touchback on 80% of his kickoffs.
The Chiefs are signing Spencer Shrader off the New York Jets' practice squad to fill in for Butker, a source told Pelissero. Shrader made both of his field-goal tries against the Arizona Cardinals last week. They were the first two attempts of his career.
Kansas City's next four games are against the Buffalo Bills, Carolina Panthers, Las Vegas Raiders, and Los Angeles Chargers.
Butker has made 89.2% of his 241 career field-goal attempts. He signed a four-year, $25.6-million extension ahead of the 2024 campaign.
