The connection between Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold and receiver Justin Jefferson is off to a hot start at training camp.

Darnold went viral on Wednesday for making a 50-yard touchdown pass to Jefferson, who was visibly excited about their performance at practice.

"It's going great," Jefferson said when asked about his chemistry with the 27-year-old who signed with Minnesota this past offseason. Darnold was expected to receive the majority of first-team snaps to start camp with the Vikings, his third team in as many seasons.

"Sam has been throwing bombs today. He's been looking great," Jefferson added.

Minnesota also rosters passer J.J. McCarthy, whom the club drafted 10th overall in April.

"All the quarterbacks are doing great," Jefferson said. "J.J. has come along. Him learning the playbook and just getting comfortable with being out there."

The wideout continued: "I'm excited to see what all of the quarterbacks have during training camp and see who we'll go with during the season."

The Vikings had to look for other quarterback options after Kirk Cousins - their starter since 2018 - joined the Atlanta Falcons in free agency. In addition to Darnold and McCarthy, Minnesota's QB depth chart features Nick Mullens and Jaren Hall.
