The Las Vegas Raiders placed wide receiver Michael Gallup on the retired list, the team announced Tuesday.

The 28-year-old wideout signed a one-year contract with the Raiders in April but has yet to announce the end of his football career. Las Vegas' training camp opens on Wednesday.

Gallup spent his first six NFL seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, who drafted him in the third round in 2018. The former Colorado State star had a promising start to his career and topped 1,000 yards in his second year in the league before his production began to decline.

He sustained a torn ACL during the 2021 campaign but still signed a five-year, $62.5-million extension with the Cowboys during the 2022 offseason. Dallas, however, released him this past March after he caught only 34 passes for a career-low 418 yards and two touchdowns.

Gallup recorded 266 catches, 3,744 yards, and 21 touchdown receptions in 86 NFL appearances.

He was projected to be a depth piece for a Raiders roster that features Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers at wide receiver, among others.
