NFL defenses might be facing an even faster Lamar Jackson in 2024.

In an interview with Complex Sports, Jackson revealed that he's dropped weight this offseason while responding to a social media post that said the Baltimore Ravens quarterback looks "2019 MVP slim now."

"Most definitely," said Jackson. "I was 230 two years ago. I was 215 last season, but now I'm like 205."

Fans noticed Jackson's new physique during voluntary workouts in April.

"Lamar is in great shape, and what it's allowing us to do … is to add lean muscle on top of it," Ravens strength and conditioning coordinator Scott Elliott said in April, according to team reporter Kevin Eck. "So I would say this: I've never been more excited in April for Lamar Jackson."

Jackson won his second career MVP award and led the Ravens to the AFC's No. 1 seed last season. He threw for a career-high 3,678 yards and 24 touchdowns against seven interceptions, adding 821 yards and five scores on the ground.

The star passer said in 2022 that he wanted to add muscle mass after entering the NFL at around 205 pounds.

While Jackson is lighter, the Ravens' backfield arguably won't be any less physically imposing thanks to the addition of star running back Derrick Henry in free agency.
