The Las Vegas Raiders and pass-rusher Maxx Crosby have begun working on a new deal, sources told The Athletic's Vic Tafur.
Contract talks are going well, and a deal is expected to make Crosby one of the league's highest-paid defenders, Tafur reports.
Crosby, 24, has provided a consistent pass-rush presence for the Raiders. He earned his first Pro Bowl invite in 2021 after notching eight sacks and 30 quarterback hits across 17 games.
The 2019 fourth-round selection is due to make just over $3.9 million in 2022, the final year of his rookie contract, per Spotrac.
An extension for quarterback Derek Carr is also a priority for the Raiders, though it's likely Crosby's deal gets done first, Tafur adds.
