The top of the quarterback market has skyrocketed in recent years, and it could be pushed to new heights thanks to a host of young signal-callers who will soon need new contracts.

Near the top of that group is Jared Goff, who has one year remaining on his rookie deal. The Los Angeles Rams are all but certain to exercise a $20-million-plus option in the former No. 1 pick's contract, giving the team a two-year window in which to decide when to extend him.

"Not on my mind at all," Goff said, according to Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times. "I know the deal and understand that I hired an agent for that reason, and things always work out. You continue to play well, it will work itself out."

In addition to Goff, fellow up-and-coming pivots Dak Prescott, Carson Wentz, and Patrick Mahomes will likely all receive big-money extensions over the next few years.

Prescott, as a former fourth-rounder, is only contracted through the 2019 season and therefore will presumably get paid first, which the Dallas Cowboys appear happy to do. Wentz will also likely have his fifth-year option exercised, while the Kansas City Chiefs reportedly will attempt to lock up the reigning NFL MVP to a record deal potentially worth $200 million in 2020.

Goff, meanwhile, is reportedly unlikely to receive a new contract before the 2019 campaign.

The 24-year-old rebounded spectacularly from an abysmal rookie season, throwing for 8,492 yards and 60 touchdowns over the last two seasons under the guidance of head coach Sean McVay.

However, Goff wasn't at his best during the Rams' run to Super Bowl LIII. He threw just one touchdown, two interceptions, and completed 55.7 percent of his passes in three games, causing some to question if he's a product of McVay's system rather than a top-flight quarterback,
