Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr once hit Drake with a $500 fine after the rapper, Stephen Curry, and Draymond Green showed up late to the team plane.

Kerr shared the story with reporters before Sunday's game between the Warriors and Toronto Raptors, explaining how Curry and Green got held up at Oracle Arena with Drake.

"We had a team rule at the time that you could bring a friend on the plane a couple times a year. Unbeknownst to me, Steph decided to use one of his slots for Drake," Kerr said. "So Drake got on the plane that night with Draymond and Steph, and I fined all three of them for being late. And Drake paid his $500 fine, you can ask him that, true story."

Curry confirmed the story during his pregame media availability.

"Me and Draymond were definitely late, just chopping it up with Drake in the (Oracle) parking lot," Curry said. "I think he put it in a song, him taking the team plane from Oracle. I don't remember what song it is, it's in there though. He talked about it."

Drake does in fact reference the story on the track "Free Smoke" from his 2017 mixtape "More Life," rapping, "I took the team plane from Oracle."
