With the NBA season on hold, Milwaukee Bucks guard George Hill has been spending his time surrounded by exotic animals on his 850-acre Texas ranch.

Hill purchased the property - located 35 minutes north of his family's home in San Antonio - in August 2017 and has since filled it with zebras, kangaroos, wildebeests, donkeys, elk, antelope, and other animal species, according to ESPN's Malika Andrews. All animals were purchased legally from licensed specialty breeders, with the most expensive being the female sable antelope and kudu that cost Hill between $20,000 and $25,000 each.

Hill's ranch is bigger than some of the largest zoos in the United States, Andrews notes. Hill said many of the animals will never have any contact with humans unless they fall ill and he or one of his staff members has to intervene.

He hopes to eventually pass on the ranch to his children.

"I just think it's cool for my kids to see," he said. "And for them to have something different. Everyone has a dog or a cat. ... I just choose other animals."
