"Air Bud," the 1997 flick about a basketball-playing Golden Retriever, could be getting a reboot.

Actor Kevin Zegers, who starred as 12-year-old Josh Framm in the movie, told Us Weekly there have been talks about the possibility of remaking it.

"I've spoken to Robert Vince, who's the producer of all those movies (and) now lives in a house bigger than this building. I think there's probably something there. It would have to be the right situation," Zegers said, adding they've "definitely thought about a way to bring it back to what it initially was, which is really like a sweet story about a kid and his dog."

"Air Bud" spawned the sequel, "Air Bud: Golden Retriever," along with several direct-to-video installments and spinoff series, but Zegers believes the first film is "the movie that people think about."

"(It) was actually, like, a great little movie. Your sweet family movie," he said. "Mostly basketball players, like professional basketball players, will stop me like in the airport and be like, 'Yo bro, I don't really do this that much' ...

"To LeBron James, I'm a big deal because he's like, 'I literally wore out that VHS tape.' And Snoop Dogg and, like, those guys, 'cause ... they got kids."

LeBron has been busy working on a reboot of his own - "Space Jam 2," which is set to hit theaters in July 2021.
