Report: Arizona State signs Dillingham to 5-year extension
Arizona State agreed to a new five-year contract with head coach Kenny Dillingham, sources told ESPN's Pete Thamel.
Incentives in the deal can extend the pact to 10 years, Thamel adds.
The 34-year-old's new reported agreement comes amid the Sun Devils plan to add 20 more scholarships next season as rosters expand to 105 players.
Dillingham's current $4.05-million base salary ranks in the lower tier for Big 12 coaches. However, he's already earned more than $2.5 million in bonuses to increase his payout this campaign.
Arizona State compiled an 11-2 record and won the conference title in 2024 after getting picked to finish last in the Big 12 in the preseason poll. The team went 3-9 in 2023.
The No. 4 Sun Devils will play No. 5 Texas in the Peach Bowl on Wednesday, with an opportunity to advance to the College Football Playoff semifinal with a win.
A local native and Arizona State alum, Dillingham called the opportunity to coach at his alma mater his dream job.
