Texas adds commitment from 4-star offensive lineman Brandon Baker
Texas continued its winning ways off the field as it has on the field this season.
Four-star offensive tackle Brandon Baker committed to the Longhorns on Sunday, according to ESPN's Blake Baumgartner. He gave his verbal pledge to Texas over Ohio State, Florida State, Oregon, and Nebraska.
"I feel like they're on the up-and-up, and the O-line development is like no other," Baker told On3's Chad Simmons.
The 6-foot-5, 290-pound Baker is rated as the No. 2 offensive tackle and the second-ranked recruit in California in the 2024 cycle, according to the ESPN 300. He's also the No. 39 prospect overall in the cycle.
Baker becomes the latest California-based offensive line prospect to join Texas after current players DJ Campbell, Kelvin Banks, and Neto Umeozulu enrolled as members of the 2022 recruiting class.
Texas adds its ninth ESPN 300 pledge to its current class, which also includes five-star defensive end Colin Simmons and top-rated running back Jerrick Gibson.
