Texas A&M wide receiver Ainias Smith is expected to miss the remainder of the season after suffering a fracture to his lower right leg, his father told Travis L. Brown of The Bryan College-Station Eagle.

The family is awaiting a second medical opinion to see if Smith will need surgery.

Head coach Jimbo Fisher confirmed Smith's injury Monday.

Smith sustained the ailment in the Aggies' 23-21 win over Arkansas on Saturday when Razorbacks linebacker Bumper Pool rolled into his leg during a second-half run play. He was helped off the field and didn't return to the game

The senior wideout has led the Aggies in most receiving categories in each of the past two seasons. He recorded 47 receptions for 509 yards and six touchdowns along with 10.8 yards per catch last campaign.

Smith currently paces the Aggies with 15 receptions for 291 yards and two touchdowns through four games.
