Highly rated wide receiver Carnell Tate announced his commitment to Ohio State on Monday.

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound player chose the Buckeyes over finalists Notre Dame, Tennessee, and LSU.

Tate, who began his prep career in Chicago before transferring to IMG Academy, is considered a five-star prospect in the 2023 recruiting class by multiple recruiting services.

"I'm picking Ohio State because I have a great relationship with the coaches that I've had since Day 1," Tate told Allen Trieu of 247 Sports. The star receiver said head coach Ryan Day's play-calling and receiver coach Brian Hartline's ability to develop talent were factors in his commitment decision.

Tate becomes the Buckeyes' seventh pledge from an ESPN 300 prospect this class. He joins Bryson Rodgers among the current receiving corps set to join Ohio State.
